Community Guidelines
We want our dances to be a great experience for everyone. We don’t expect anyone to be perfect but we do believe in fostering community, looking after one another, and holding ourselves to a high standard. By registering for any Leigh & Daire event, you agree to the following:
Dance roles (lead and follow) are not tied to gender so check in with their partners about their preferred role.
Say “yes” to the dances you want and “no” to the dances you don't.
Never give unsolicited advice or feedback either in the workshop or social floor. It’s deeply, deeply uncool. Solicited feedback, on the other hand, is very cool.
Take care of your partner and fellow dancers. Pay extra attention on crowded floors and ensure your dancing doesn’t put anyone at an increased risk of physical injury.
Say “sorry” if a dance floor collision or inappropriate swipe occurs.
Look after yourself. Drink some water, wash your hands, take care of personal hygiene. We’ll all thank you for it.
REAL TALK: We take zero tolerance to harassment in any form. If you are being made to feel uncomfortable/uneasy, if you are being harassed or notice that someone else seems to be being harassed, or have any other concerns, please don’t hesitate in contacting any of the organisers straight away.
Any form of harassment will be met with sanctions at the discretion of the organisers, which may include expulsion from the event with no refund. In addition, violations of the Community Guidelines may be recorded and, if deemed appropriate by the organisers, may be shared with other event organisers to promote safety across the dance scene.
We appreciate your assistance in keeping dance events as enjoyable as possible for everyone.
